Import from Google Drive
Pull images and videos from your Google Drive straight into the PostFast composer, including Shared drives. Connect once, then pick files in Google's own secure picker. Your files stay in your Drive, and PostFast only ever gets access to the exact files you pick.
How it works
Connect once per workspace
- 1Go to Dashboard, then Integrations, and click Connect on Google Drive.
- 2Sign in with Google and approve the permission. Google shows: "See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files that you use with this app." That is Google's standard wording for its most limited Drive permission; in practice PostFast only ever reads the files you pick.
- 3You land back in PostFast with the connection active.
Import files into a post
- 1In the composer, open the media import menu and choose Google Drive, then click Browse Google Drive.
- 2Google's picker opens with your Drive: My Drive with search, plus a Shared drives tab. Select one or more images and videos and confirm.
- 3Review your selection in PostFast, with real thumbnails, then hit Import Selected. The files are copied over and attached to your post, up to 10 files per import (run it again for more).
Import lives in the post composer, when you create a new post or edit a scheduled post or draft. Manage or remove the connection anytime under Integrations, or revoke PostFast on the Google side at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Private by design
Google Drive import uses the most limited access Google offers, so PostFast only ever sees the files you hand it.
Your files stay in Google Drive
Importing copies only the files you picked into PostFast. Nothing else in your Drive is visible to PostFast.
Minimum-scope access
PostFast uses Google's most limited Drive permission (drive.file): access is granted per file, at the moment you pick it in Google's own dialog. PostFast cannot list, browse, or read anything you have not picked.
No middleman
The picker is Google's own widget, and downloads go directly from Google to PostFast's storage. Your files never pass through a third-party file-picker service.
Supported files and limits
- Images up to 10 MB and videos up to 250 MB, the same limits as direct uploads.
- Up to 10 files per import, with no import quotas. Shared drives are fully supported.
- Google-native documents (Docs, Sheets, Slides) cannot be imported: they are not image or video files. Export them as an image or video first.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the Google permission mention "edit, create and delete"?
That is Google's fixed wording for its per-file permission tier; every app using the most-limited Drive access shows the same sentence. PostFast only reads the files you pick, and it never modifies or deletes anything in your Drive.
Why doesn't Google's picker show image previews?
Because PostFast deliberately uses the most private access level, Google disables thumbnails inside the picker (previews there would require full-Drive read access, which we chose not to request). You see your selection previewed with real thumbnails in PostFast right after picking.
Can my team use it?
Yes. The connection is per workspace, like Canva and Dropbox.
An import says "reconnect required". What happened?
Access was revoked or expired on the Google side. Reconnect from Integrations; your imported media is unaffected.
Which plans include Google Drive import?
All of them. Media import is available on every PostFast plan and the 7-day trial, at no extra cost.
