What size should my Bluesky banner be?
Bluesky banners are 1500×500 (3:1). Keep important content centred - the profile picture overlaps the bottom-left on desktop, similar to X or LinkedIn.
What size is a Bluesky profile picture?
400×400 (1:1) is the recommended upload. Bluesky displays profile pictures with rounded corners (not a full circle), so corners may show.
What image formats does Bluesky accept?
Bluesky accepts JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP up to 2 MB per image, with a maximum 1000 px on the longest side for in-feed images. Banners and profile pictures have separate limits.
Can I post video on Bluesky?
Yes. Each post can include 1 MP4 video up to 100 MB. A post can contain text only, up to 4 images, or 1 video, but images and video cannot be combined. Bluesky-hosted accounts need a verified email before the first video upload.
Is my image uploaded anywhere when I crop?
No. Cropping happens entirely in your browser via the Canvas API. There are no network requests - your image stays on your device.
