What size is a Telegram channel photo?
Telegram channel and group photos are 512×512 (1:1). The Telegram apps display them in a circular crop, so keep your logo or face centred to avoid clipping.
What size should a Telegram link preview image be?
1280×720 (16:9) is a strong default for link previews and video covers. Telegram pulls the OG image from your link metadata, so ensuring that target image sits at this ratio gives the cleanest preview card.
What image formats does Telegram accept?
Telegram supports JPG, PNG, and WebP. For channel photos, JPG produces the smallest file. For graphics with text or transparency, PNG is better.
Does this Telegram cropper handle the circular crop preview?
The download is a square 512×512 image. The Telegram app applies the circular mask itself when displaying it. Center your subject in the square so the circular mask does not clip the edges.
