If you ask Claude to post a video to TikTok, it will tell you it cannot. Claude has no access to your TikTok account on its own. Connect it to a scheduler that TikTok has approved for posting, and the same request works: Claude writes the caption, picks the account, attaches the video you point it to, chooses a sound from TikTok's commercial library if you want one, and schedules the post. Nothing goes live until you say yes.
This guide shows how to connect Claude to TikTok with PostFast's connector, what Claude can and cannot do on TikTok once it is connected, and how to tell the posting setup apart from the TikTok Ads and TikTok Shop connectors that share the same search results.
Can Claude post to TikTok? The short answer
Yes, through a connector. Claude's connectors are MCP servers, small services that give Claude tools it does not have by itself. PostFast's connector gives Claude tools for scheduling posts and uploading media on eleven networks, and for reading comments and analytics on the networks where PostFast supports them, TikTok included. You add it from Claude's directory, sign in with your PostFast login, and from then on "schedule this video to TikTok on Friday at 6pm" is a request Claude can carry out.
Two rules shape everything on TikTok. First, every TikTok post through PostFast needs media: one video, or one to ten images for a photo post. PostFast publishes videos and photo posts, not TikTok's text posts, and it refuses a TikTok post without media even as a draft, so Claude will ask you for the file before it creates anything. Second, in Claude every post is created on hold. Claude shows you what will be posted, where and when, and it is approved only after you confirm.
"Connect TikTok to Claude" means three different things
Search for how to connect TikTok to Claude and many of the results are about data rather than posting:
- TikTok Ads to Claude. Reporting and advertising connectors such as Supermetrics, Coupler, Porter Metrics and Windsor bring ad-account data into Claude so it can analyse campaigns, and some of them can also create or pause ads from the chat. None of them publishes organic videos to your account.
- TikTok Shop to Claude. The same idea for shop orders and product data.
- TikTok organic analytics to Claude. Again reporting, this time on your own account's views and followers, through the same family of data tools.
This guide covers the fourth meaning: Claude creating and scheduling TikTok posts, and answering comments, on an account you own. PostFast's connector also reports on the posts it publishes, so you get the organic numbers back without a separate data tool, but reporting is a side effect here, not the point.
Is there a TikTok connector, a TikTok MCP, or a TikTok skill for Claude?
We have not found a Claude connector for posting published by TikTok itself. What exists is a set of scheduling tools that have built TikTok posting into a connector, and PostFast is one of them.
The words overlap more than they differ. A connector is how Claude's interface labels an MCP server. The Model Context Protocol is the standard every Claude connector is built on, so a "TikTok MCP for Claude" and a "TikTok connector for Claude" are the same thing seen from two sides. A skill is a set of instructions that teaches Claude how to use those tools well; PostFast's plugin bundles five of them, including one for scheduling posts with the per-network rules, so Claude knows that a TikTok caption is capped at 2,200 characters when the post has a video and that a link in it will not be clickable. The Claude for social media guide explains the skills and what they drive on every network.

Why posting to TikTok from Claude needs an approved app
TikTok's Content Posting API, the official way for software to publish to TikTok, treats apps differently depending on whether TikTok has audited them. TikTok's developer documentation puts it plainly: "All content posted by unaudited clients will be restricted to private viewing mode", and a client has to "undergo an audit" before that restriction is lifted (developers.tiktok.com, Content Posting API, last updated August 4, 2026). The API also has a daily cap on the number of active publishing users per app.
So "connect Claude to TikTok" cannot mean Claude talking to TikTok directly, and a home-built connector would publish private posts until TikTok audited it. PostFast's TikTok app has been through that audit, so posts published through it are not restricted to private viewing, and the per-app limits are PostFast's to manage. You get the result without building or auditing anything.
What you need before you start
- A TikTok account. When you connect it, TikTok shows the permissions PostFast asks for: to see your profile and its stats, to see your videos and how they perform, to read and manage comments, and to upload and publish posts for you. You approve them on TikTok's own screen.
- A Claude account. Anthropic lists web connectors as available to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner has to enable a connector for the organization before members can connect it.
- A PostFast account with TikTok connected. PostFast has a 7-day free trial with no credit card, and the Claude connector works on every plan. The TikTok integration page lists everything PostFast publishes to TikTok, including the media rules.
- A video or images for the first post. Claude does not generate video. It can fetch a file from a public link and send it to PostFast, and where your Claude app passes attached files to connectors it can send a file you attach in the chat; in Claude Code it can upload a file from your machine. The video itself has to exist already.
How to connect Claude to TikTok with PostFast
You connect TikTok once inside PostFast, then connect PostFast to Claude. With your PostFast account and TikTok connection in place, adding the connector takes about two minutes.
Step 1: Connect your TikTok account to PostFast
Create your PostFast account, add TikTok as a channel, and sign in with your TikTok login. TikTok shows the permission list above; approve it and you are back in PostFast with the account listed. If you manage several TikTok accounts, connect each one; Claude can then ask "which account?" when you post.
Step 2: Add PostFast from Claude's connector directory
Open PostFast in Claude's directory at claude.ai/directory/postfast, or in Claude go to Customize > Connectors, click the + button and find PostFast. Click Connect, then sign in on PostFast's own login screen and approve access.
You never paste a password or an API key into the chat. The sign-in uses OAuth, the same kind of "Sign in with" flow you know from other apps, and PostFast never holds your TikTok password either: TikTok itself handled that login in step 1.
Step 3: Turn PostFast on in a conversation
In the chat box, click the + button (or type /), hover over Connectors, and switch PostFast on for that conversation. Claude can now use it whenever your request needs it.
Step 4: Ask for your first TikTok post
Give Claude a public link to the video (or attach the file, where your Claude app passes attachments to connectors) and ask:
"Post this to TikTok on Friday at 6pm. Caption: three things I wish I knew before my first product launch. Turn comments on, no duets."
Claude uploads the video to PostFast, checks which TikTok account to use, writes the post with the caption and the switches you asked for, and schedules it on hold. It then shows you the account, the time, the caption and the settings. Say yes and the post is approved; at 6pm on Friday PostFast publishes it to TikTok directly, with no notification to tap on your phone.

On a Team or Enterprise plan
An Owner or Primary Owner first opens Organization settings > Connectors, clicks Browse connectors, selects PostFast and chooses Add to your team. Enabling it does not connect anyone automatically: each person then connects PostFast and signs in with their own PostFast login.
Prefer to add it by URL?
You can add the same connector as a custom connector. Go to Customize > Connectors, click Add, hover over Custom and select Web. Give it a name, paste https://mcp.postfa.st/mcp as the server URL, keep the authentication settings Claude detects, add it, and sign in when asked. Anthropic allows custom connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, with one custom connector on the Free plan.
In Cowork and on your phone
Anthropic lists connectors as available in Cowork as well as in Claude, Claude Desktop and the mobile apps, so a connector you add once is there when Cowork plans your week of videos. Installing connectors directly in the mobile apps is still in beta; connect PostFast on the web or in Claude Desktop and it is available in the Claude app on iOS or Android the next time you log in.
In Claude Code
If Claude Code is logged in with the same claude.ai account, connectors you added in Claude appear in Claude Code automatically. Run /mcp and PostFast is listed with your other claude.ai connectors. If it says it needs authentication, select it and sign in.
If you have not added PostFast in Claude, add it from the terminal once:
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http postfast https://mcp.postfa.st/mcp
Then run /mcp, choose postfast, select Authenticate, and approve the sign-in in your browser. Do not add it both ways: Claude Code hides the claude.ai copy as a duplicate of the server you added. Claude Code is also where a video that lives on your machine is easiest to hand over: it can read the file path and upload the file itself.
What Claude can do on TikTok once connected
Schedule videos and photo posts. A TikTok post is one video (MP4, WebM or MOV, up to 250 MB through PostFast), or a photo post of one to ten images (JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP). Claude can schedule up to a year ahead, and it can create the TikTok version of a post in the same batch as the Instagram, YouTube or LinkedIn versions, each with its own caption.
Write within TikTok's limits. Captions take up to 4,000 characters on a photo post and 2,200 when the post has a video. Links in a TikTok caption are not clickable, so Claude will point people to the link in your bio instead of pasting a URL. A photo post can carry a title of up to 90 characters; set one and the full caption becomes the description, leave it out and the first line of the caption is used as the title.
Pick a sound. PostFast lists trending tracks from TikTok's Commercial Music Library, filtered by genre, country and a 1, 7, 30 or 90-day trending window, and Claude can attach one to a video or a photo post. On a video the track and the video's original sound both play at half volume, as in the TikTok app. For photo posts you can also let TikTok pick a sound automatically. The list rotates daily, so Claude fetches it fresh each time. Some TikTok accounts need a one-time reconnect in PostFast before a specific sound can be chosen; Claude will tell you if that is the case.
Send a post to your TikTok drafts instead. Subtitles, stickers and final edits still happen inside the TikTok app. For those posts, ask Claude to send the post as a TikTok draft. At the scheduled time it lands in TikTok's Inbox under System Notifications on your phone, and you finish and publish it there. A sound chosen in PostFast is not applied to a draft, so add it in the app. Once you publish the draft from the app, PostFast picks it up on its next check (twice a day, covering posts from the last 30 days) and starts tracking its numbers.
Set the switches. Allow or block comments, duets and stitches per post. Mark the post as AI-generated, which adds TikTok's "AI-generated" label; this is set when the post is created and cannot be added later, so Claude asks before creating the post. Flag branded content or brand organic content where TikTok's disclosure rules apply. Add a custom cover image for a video.
Add a first comment. PostFast posts a first comment of up to 1,200 characters right after the post goes live, which is where many creators put a question, a link reminder or extra context. Comments have to be enabled on the post for it to work.
Answer comments. PostFast's Social Inbox collects the comments on your TikTok videos. Claude can list the ones nobody has answered, draft a reply to each, and send them one by one after you have seen and approved each reply. It can also hide, restore or delete a comment when you ask.
Read the numbers. For posts published through PostFast, Claude can pull impressions, likes, comments and shares, and for videos the watch time: average and total time watched, and the share of viewers who watched the whole video. TikTok reports watch time about a day or two after publishing, so the watch-time fields on a fresh video can arrive later than its reach and likes. The best time to post on TikTok guide, built from PostFast's own posting data, is the companion for the timing question.

Prompts to try
- "Schedule this video to TikTok tomorrow at 7pm with a caption about [topic]. Add a trending pop sound. Comments on, duets and stitches off."
- "Make a TikTok photo post from these five images, title 'Five desk setups under 200 dollars', and post it Saturday morning."
- "Send this one to my TikTok drafts for Thursday evening; I will add subtitles in the app."
- "Go through this week's TikTok comments, draft answers to the questions, and show me before anything is sent."
- "How did last week's TikTok videos do? Which one had the highest full-watch rate?"
Every post waits for your yes
In Claude, PostFast creates new posts on hold. Claude shows you what will be posted, where and when, and the post is approved only after you confirm, which is the same post approval flow teams use inside PostFast. If you change your mind, ask Claude to delete the post before its time, or edit it in PostFast's calendar.
What it cannot do
- Watch or make videos. Claude reads text and images and can describe what is in a still, but on its own it does not watch a video, and it does not generate one. Your video has to exist before you ask. What Claude can do is write the caption, pick the time, choose the sound and the settings, and move the file to TikTok through PostFast.
- Post a text-only TikTok. PostFast publishes videos and photo posts, and it refuses a TikTok post, even a draft, with no video or images attached.
- Set a video's privacy per post. Through PostFast, videos use your account's default privacy and photo posts publish publicly. For a post you want to review privately first, send it to your TikTok drafts.
- Ads, Shop and other people's accounts. PostFast reports on your own organic posts. Ad campaigns, Shop orders and anyone else's account are outside what Claude can reach through it.
- Everything TikTok itself does not allow through the API. The Content Posting API publishes videos and photo posts; Stories and live video are not among them, so they are not part of this either.
Is it safe to connect Claude to TikTok?
The connection is built so that Claude never holds your TikTok password:
- You sign in on PostFast's own screen using OAuth. No password or API key goes into the chat, and TikTok's login happens on TikTok.
- It publishes through TikTok's API, the route TikTok provides for scheduling tools, through an app TikTok has audited, not by driving your browser or a phone emulator.
- Permissions stay with you. PostFast checks your workspace permissions on every request, so Claude can only do what your PostFast user can do.
- You can disconnect at any time, from Customize > Connectors in Claude, from PostFast, or by removing PostFast's access in TikTok's own settings.
- Admins can restrict actions. On Team and Enterprise plans, Owners can set each connector tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked for the whole organization.
One thing to know: PostFast is listed in Claude's directory as a community connector. Anthropic labels community connectors as having passed automated reviews without being verified by Anthropic, and advises connecting only developers you trust.
Does this work in ChatGPT?
Yes. PostFast also has a ChatGPT connector in ChatGPT's plugin directory, and it is the same connector, so the TikTok rules above apply unchanged: media first, captions within the limits, a sound if you want one, and the post waits for your yes. The one-click directory install does not include the comment tools yet; adding the connector manually in ChatGPT's Developer mode gives you those today, and PostFast's ChatGPT guide walks through both routes. The Instagram and Facebook side of the ChatGPT setup is in can ChatGPT post to Instagram and Facebook.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Claude post to TikTok?
Not on its own. To publish through TikTok's API, Claude needs a connector built on an app TikTok has audited for posting, such as PostFast. Once it is connected, Claude can schedule videos and photo posts, pick a sound, send a post to your TikTok drafts, add a first comment and answer comments, and every post is approved only after you confirm.
Is there a TikTok connector for Claude?
We have not found a posting connector for Claude published by TikTok itself. Scheduling tools that support TikTok, PostFast among them, offer connectors that post, and many "TikTok connector" results are reporting or advertising connectors for TikTok Ads or Shop, which do not publish organic videos.
Is there a TikTok MCP for Claude?
Every Claude connector is an MCP server, so PostFast's connector is a TikTok MCP for Claude that publishes rather than reports. The hosted connector lives at mcp.postfa.st and can be added from the directory or by URL.
Can Claude watch TikTok videos?
No. On its own, Claude does not play video. It can read a video's caption, comments and performance numbers through PostFast, and it can describe an image you show it, but it does not watch the footage.
Can Claude make TikTok videos?
No. Claude does not generate video on its own. It writes captions and hooks, plans a posting schedule, picks sounds and settings, and sends the video you give it to TikTok through PostFast.
Can I connect TikTok Ads or TikTok Shop to Claude?
Those are different connections. Ad-account and Shop reporting goes through data connectors built for TikTok Ads and TikTok Shop. PostFast's connector covers organic posting and comments on accounts you own.
Can I connect TikTok to Claude for free?
Anthropic makes connectors available to all Claude users, including the Free plan, which allows one custom connector. On the PostFast side, the 7-day trial needs no credit card and the connector works on every plan.
