Claude can run a surprising amount of your social media from one chat: plan the week, write a version of each post for each network, schedule everything, answer the comments that come in, and tell you what worked. What it cannot do on its own is publish. A fresh Claude chat has no access to your accounts. The pieces that change that are a connector, which gives Claude a way to post through each platform's API, and skills, which teach it how to do the job well.

This guide explains those pieces in plain words, shows how to use Claude as a social media manager with PostFast, and lists what Claude can post on each of eleven platforms once it is connected. Anthropic's menus and plan rules come from its help center, and the PostFast details from PostFast's own documentation, both checked in October 2026.

Can Claude post to social media? The short answer

Not by itself, yes with a connector. Anthropic describes connectors as the way Claude accesses your apps and services and takes actions in them. Without one, Claude writes the caption and you do the posting. With a connector to a scheduler such as PostFast, Claude creates the post in your account, on the network you name, at the time you choose, and the post is held until you approve it, so nothing reaches a platform without your yes.

Three things decide how far you can take it:

  • Which connector you add. Claude's directory lists many connectors that touch social media. Some publish, some only read your analytics, some automate direct messages. Pick one that does the job you have in mind.
  • Which networks it covers. PostFast's connector covers eleven: X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Telegram and Google Business Profile, and PostFast's comment inbox covers TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Pages and Threads.
  • Whether Claude knows the rules. A LinkedIn post can run to 3,000 characters, an X post to 280, a Threads post to 500, and Instagram needs an image or video on every post. Skills carry those rules so Claude gets them right the first time.

Skills, connectors and plugins: the three words you will meet

People searching for "Claude social media skills" and "Claude social media connector" are often looking for the same outcome, so here is what each word means in Claude today.

WordWhat it isWhat it does for social media
SkillA folder of instructions and resources that Claude loads when a task matches it. Anthropic lists skills as available on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, with code execution enabledTeaches Claude a workflow: how long each network's post may be, what to check before scheduling, how to write a report. A skill on its own cannot post anything
ConnectorClaude's link to an outside service, added from Claude's directory with a sign-in. Available on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile appsGives Claude tools: list your accounts, create and schedule posts, read comments, pull analytics. The connector is what actually publishes
PluginA bundle that installs skills and a connector together, available on the paid plans (Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise). Its skills work in chat on the web and in Claude Desktop, in Cowork, and in Claude Code sessions signed in with the same accountOne install that brings both the know-how and the tools, so Claude posts correctly without you writing the rules

PostFast ships all three. The connector is listed in Claude's directory as a community connector at claude.ai/directory/postfast, and the PostFast plugin, published to Claude's directory in October 2026, bundles that connector with five skills. The plugin is open source, so you can read every instruction Claude follows before you add it.

Claude skills for social media that actually post

Many of the social media skills you find on GitHub and in roundups do one thing well: they make Claude a better writer of posts. That is useful, but the post still ends up in your clipboard. PostFast's five skills are written for the next step. Each one tells Claude how to use the connector, what to check first, and when to stop and show you a preview.

SkillWhat Claude does with it
get-startedChecks that PostFast is connected, helps you pick the workspace, lists your social accounts, offers a reconnect link for any that stopped working, and suggests a first step. It only reads, apart from that connect link
schedule-postsChecks which accounts are connected, writes each post to fit its network, creates it on hold, shows you the preview and schedules it after your yes. Also saves drafts and explains failed posts
repurpose-contentTurns an article, newsletter, transcript or web page into a week of posts for your networks, then schedules them with your approval
manage-commentsFinds comments nobody has answered on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Pages and Threads, drafts replies, and sends each one only after you have seen it. Hides, restores and deletes comments when you ask
performance-reportSummarizes reach, engagement and follower growth per network for a period, with your best and weakest posts and what to post more of. It only reads

Two habits run through the posting skills. Nothing is published, sent or deleted without a yes to the exact preview: posts are created on hold, and your yes is what schedules them, even when you asked Claude to post right away. And the connector is right when the skill and the connector disagree: if PostFast rejects a post because the text is too long for the network, Claude tells you and offers a shorter version instead of guessing. The get-started and performance-report skills only read.

How to add the skills and the connector

  • Plugin route (skills plus connector): in Claude, open Customize > Plugins, open the Discover tab, find PostFast and add it. Then connect PostFast from the plugin's Connectors tab: you sign in with your PostFast account on PostFast's own screen and pick the workspace Claude should use by default.
  • Connector only: open claude.ai/directory/postfast, or go to Customize > Connectors, click +, find PostFast, click Connect and sign in. Without the skills, Claude still has every tool; it just reads the network rules from the tool descriptions instead of a playbook.
  • Both share one server. In Claude chat the plugin uses the connection you already made; Claude Code keeps its own sign-in, so run /mcp there and sign in once.

PostFast is a community listing in both forms. Anthropic says community connectors have undergone automated reviews but are not verified by Anthropic, and advises connecting only developers you trust, which is a fair reason to read the plugin's source before you add it.

How to use Claude as a social media manager

With PostFast connected, a week of social media fits in one conversation. The pattern below is the one the skills are built around.

1. Plan the week in one prompt

"Plan next week's posts for our bakery: three posts, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. Theme: the new sourdough. Give me the plan first, no posting yet."

Claude lists what is connected, proposes the three posts and waits.

2. Write a version per network

"Good. Write each post for its network: short with a hook for Instagram, a fuller story for Facebook, a business angle for the LinkedIn page. Keep them in our voice, no hashtags on LinkedIn."

The schedule-posts skill keeps each version inside its network's limits and asks for an image where the network requires one.

3. Schedule everything, then approve

"Schedule them with the three photos at these links, and show me the full preview before anything is confirmed."

PostFast creates the posts on hold. Claude shows you each post, the account and the time, and calls the approval only after your yes. Until then the posts wait in PostFast as Pending approval, the same post approval flow teams use, where a teammate with approval rights can also review them.

A week of posts flowing from one chat into a calendar, each card held until it is stamped approved

4. Answer comments without opening four apps

"Go through today's comments on Instagram and TikTok, draft answers to the questions, and show me before anything is sent."

PostFast's Social Inbox collects comments on your posts from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Pages and Threads from the moment an account is connected. Claude drafts public replies and, where one is allowed, an Instagram private reply, and shows you every reply and deletion before it happens; hiding a comment is reversible and done when you ask, and deleting is not available on Threads. It is a comments inbox, not direct messages.

5. Report on what worked

"How did last month's posts do across all networks? Best three, weakest three, and what to post more of."

The performance-report skill pulls per-post impressions, reach, likes, comments, shares and watch time where a network provides them, plus the daily follower history PostFast records from the day it starts tracking an account.

Where this works

  • Claude on the web and Claude Desktop: the full flow.
  • Cowork: Anthropic lists connectors as available in Cowork, and a plugin's skills run there too, so a Cowork session can draft and schedule the week.
  • Claude Code: PostFast shows up under /mcp, either from the connector you added in Claude (when Claude Code is signed in with the same account) or from the plugin, which keeps its own sign-in there, and the plugin's skills are available in those sessions. For scripts and CI there is also the open-source npm server with an API key, covered in the Claude Code guide.
  • Your phone: connect PostFast on the web or in Claude Desktop first; the connector is then available in the Claude app on iOS and Android. Installing connectors directly in the mobile apps is still in beta.

What Claude can post on each platform through PostFast

The limits below are the ones PostFast enforces when Claude creates a post. Where a network requires media, Claude asks for an image or video before it creates anything, even for a draft.

NetworkTextMedia per postWorth knowing
X280 characters, up to 4,000 on X PremiumUp to 4 images, or 1 videoEvery link counts as 23 characters; Claude can also repost an existing post
Instagram2,200 charactersUp to 10 images and videos mixedFeed posts, carousels, Reels, Stories and trial Reels; media required
Facebook63,206 charactersUp to 10 images, or 1 videoFeed posts, Reels and Stories on Pages; feed posts can be limited to chosen countries
TikTok4,000 on photo posts, 2,200 with a video1 video, or up to 10 imagesSounds from TikTok's commercial library, duet and stitch switches, or send as a TikTok draft; media required
LinkedIn3,000 charactersUp to 10 images, or 1 video, or 1 documentPersonal profiles and company pages; PDF, Word and PowerPoint documents up to 60 MB
YouTubeTitle 100, description 5,0001 videoShorts or long form, privacy, playlist, tags, custom thumbnail and a caption file; media required
Threads500 charactersUp to 10 images and videos mixedOne topic tag per post
PinterestTitle 100, description 800Up to 5 images, or 1 videoA board is required to schedule; a destination link per pin; media required
Bluesky300 charactersUp to 10 images, or 1 videoVideos up to 100 MB
Telegram4,096 charactersUp to 10 items, at most 3 videosChannel and group posts; the PostFast bot must be an admin there; videos up to 50 MB
Google Business Profile1,500 characters1 image, no videoStandard, event and offer posts; standard and event posts can carry a call-to-action button, offers a redeem link and coupon code

Across all of them Claude can schedule up to a year ahead, add a first comment on X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads and TikTok, and write a different version of the same post for each network in one batch.

What comes back for reporting depends on the network. Post analytics are available for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, LinkedIn company pages and Pinterest Business accounts. Daily follower history is recorded for Facebook Pages, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Telegram, LinkedIn company pages and TikTok, but not for X. Full analytics come with the Creator plan and above; the Starter plan includes limited analytics.

Platform by platform: what "connect Claude to..." gets you

The same connector behaves a little differently on each network, and some searches ("connect Facebook to Claude", "TikTok ads to Claude") are really about data, not posting. Here is the honest version for each.

Instagram

Claude can draft, schedule and publish feed posts, carousels, Reels, Stories and trial Reels to a Business or Creator account, add a first comment, read and answer comments, send one private reply per comment, and report on post stats and follower trend. Direct messages and ads data are not included. The full walkthrough, with prompts, is in how to connect Claude to Instagram.

LinkedIn

Claude posts to your personal profile and your company pages, text, images, video or a PDF document that LinkedIn shows as swipeable pages, and reports on company page posts and followers. LinkedIn comments are not in the inbox, and PostFast does not report on personal-profile analytics. Steps and the PDF carousel flow are in how to connect Claude to LinkedIn.

Facebook

Through PostFast, Claude publishes feed posts, Reels and Stories to Facebook Pages, can limit a feed post to chosen countries or tag a place, answers comments on Page posts, and reports on post performance and Page followers. If your search was "connect Facebook Ads to Claude", that is a different kind of connector: PostFast reports on organic Page posts, not ad accounts. Page requirements are on the Facebook integration page.

TikTok

Claude schedules videos and photo posts, picks a sound from TikTok's commercial music library, sets duet, stitch and comment switches, or sends the post to your TikTok drafts, and it reads and answers comments on your videos. Post analytics include watch time. TikTok Ads and TikTok Shop data are not part of this. Drafts, sounds, analytics and first comments are described on the TikTok integration page.

X

Posts of up to 280 characters, or 4,000 on X Premium, with up to four images or one video, plus a first comment and reposts of existing posts. PostFast does not provide post analytics or follower history for X, so reporting there stays in X's own analytics.

YouTube

Claude uploads a video as a Short or a regular video with title, description, tags, privacy, playlist, a custom thumbnail and a timed caption file, adds a first comment, and reports on views and watch time. A video is required; images are not accepted.

Threads

Text, images and videos, up to ten items in one post, with one topic tag per post, comments in the inbox, and post analytics and follower history.

Pinterest

Image and video pins to a board you choose, with a destination link, up to five images or one video per pin, and analytics on Business accounts, including saves and outbound clicks.

Bluesky, Telegram and Google Business Profile

Bluesky takes text up to 300 characters with up to ten images or a video. Telegram posts go to a channel or group where the PostFast bot is an admin, up to 4,096 characters with mixed media. Google Business Profile takes standard, event and offer posts with one image, a call-to-action button on standard and event posts, and a redeem link and coupon code on offers, to a location you pick. All three publish from the same chat; Bluesky and Telegram also record follower history.

Other ways people connect Claude to social media

Not every "connect Claude to Instagram" tutorial means a connector. Two other routes come up, and both have their place:

  • Claude in Chrome. Anthropic's browser extension, available on all paid plans, reads the page you are signed in to and clicks, types and fills forms while you decide what happens next. It can work inside a social network's website while you watch, and Anthropic has added scheduled browser tasks, but there is no approval queue for posts, and several networks' terms restrict automated posting through the website.
  • Automation platforms. A trigger in one tool fires a posting action in another. Good for repeating a fixed pattern; the setup and billing live with that platform, and what you can post depends on its action for each network.

A publishing connector such as PostFast is the route built for running accounts from a chat: it publishes through each platform's API on accounts you connected yourself, and PostFast's keeps the approval step.

Is it safe to let Claude post for you?

  • You sign in on PostFast's own screen with OAuth. No password or API key goes into the chat, and PostFast never holds your social platform passwords: the networks' logins happen on their own screens, except Bluesky, which connects with an app password you create in Bluesky, and Telegram, which works by making the PostFast bot an admin of your channel or group.
  • Every post waits for your yes. PostFast's listing in Claude's directory states it plainly: every post is held for your approval, so nothing publishes until you confirm it. Comment replies and deletions are previewed the same way.
  • Permissions stay with you. PostFast checks your workspace permissions on every request, so Claude can only do what your PostFast user can do.
  • You can disconnect at any time, from Customize > Connectors in Claude or from PostFast.
  • Owners can restrict actions. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner enables a connector for the organization first, and can set each connector tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked.

Does this work in ChatGPT?

Yes. PostFast also has a ChatGPT connector in ChatGPT's plugin directory, running on the same server. In ChatGPT you can draft a post, choose the accounts it goes to, attach an image, a video or a LinkedIn PDF from a public link, schedule it, route it for approval, and check how published posts performed. The one-click directory install does not include the comment tools yet; adding the connector manually in ChatGPT's Developer mode gives you those today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Claude post to social media?

Not on its own. Claude needs a connector that can publish, such as PostFast. Once it is connected, Claude can create and schedule posts to X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Telegram and Google Business Profile, and every post waits for your approval before it goes live.

What are Claude skills for social media?

Skills are folders of instructions Claude loads when a task matches them. For social media, many published skills teach Claude to write better posts. PostFast's five skills, shipped in its plugin, also teach Claude to use the PostFast connector: check the connected accounts, fit each post to its network, create it on hold, show a preview, schedule it after your yes, answer comments and write a performance report.

Can Claude schedule social media posts?

Yes, through PostFast. Claude creates the posts on hold with a date and time, up to a year ahead, and schedules them once you approve the preview. You can also ask what is scheduled next week, save drafts, or delete a scheduled post before it publishes.

Can Claude manage my comments too?

On TikTok, Instagram, Facebook Pages and Threads, yes. PostFast's Social Inbox collects comments on your posts, and Claude can read them, draft replies, send an Instagram private reply, or hide and delete comments; every reply and deletion is shown to you first. LinkedIn, X and the other networks' comments are not in the inbox, and direct messages are never read.

Is using Claude for social media free?

Anthropic makes connectors available to all Claude users, including the Free plan, which allows one custom connector, and lists skills as available on every plan with code execution enabled; plugins, the route that installs PostFast's skills, are available on the paid plans, so on the Free plan add the connector on its own. On the PostFast side there is a 7-day free trial with no credit card, then plans start at €12 per month, or €10 per month on yearly billing, and the connector works on every plan.

Does it work in Cowork and Claude Code?

Yes. Anthropic lists connectors as available in Cowork, and a plugin's skills work in Cowork and in Claude Code sessions signed in with the same account. In Claude Code, connectors added in Claude show up under /mcp; the open-source npm server with an API key is the route for scripts.

One chat, every network, your final say

Using Claude for social media stops being a writing trick once it can publish. Add the PostFast connector or the plugin with its skills, keep your accounts connected in PostFast, and the week becomes one conversation: plan, write, schedule, approve, answer, report. Start with the network you post on most, using the Instagram or LinkedIn guide above, and widen from there.
