Claude can post to a Facebook Page once you give it a connector. In a regular chat, Claude has no access to your Page. A connector from Claude's directory adds that access, and the right one lets Claude draft, schedule and publish Page posts, Reels and Stories, answer the comments people leave on them, and report how your posts performed, all from a chat.
This guide shows how to connect Claude to a Facebook Page with PostFast, what Claude can and cannot do once connected, and prompts that work, and it sorts out the other things people mean by "connect Claude to Facebook", such as ads. Claude's menus and plans come from Anthropic's help center, Meta details from Meta's own pages and PostFast details from PostFast's documentation, all checked in October 2026.
Can Claude post to Facebook? The short answer
Yes, to a Facebook Page, through a connector. Anthropic describes connectors as the way Claude accesses your apps and services and takes actions in them. Without one, Claude can still write your post; getting it onto Facebook then takes Claude's browser, an automation platform or your own copy and paste, all compared below.
Three things decide what you can actually do:
- The route you choose. A browser, an automation platform or a directory connector, compared below.
- Where you want to post. PostFast publishes to Facebook Pages, several per workspace if you like. It does not post to personal profiles or to groups.
- Your approval. With PostFast, every post Claude creates is held until you confirm it, so nothing reaches your Page without your yes.
Ads, Marketplace and Messenger are different jobs; the next section sorts them out.
Which "connect Claude to Facebook" do you need?
The phrase covers several jobs, and not all of them are about posting:
| Your job | What it takes | Through PostFast? |
|---|---|---|
| Post and schedule on your Page (feed posts, Reels, Stories) | A connector that publishes to Facebook Pages | Yes |
| Answer comments on your Page's posts | A connector with comment tools | Yes, comments on your own posts |
| See how your Page's posts performed | A connector that reads your post statistics | Partly: post metrics and a daily follower trend, not full Page Insights such as audience demographics |
| Run Facebook or Instagram ads | Meta's ads AI connectors | No |
| Reply to Messenger chats | A tool built for Messenger | No, PostFast handles comments, not messages |
| Buy or sell on Marketplace | Facebook's own app or website | No |
Is there an official Facebook MCP for Claude?
Yes, but not for posting. Meta's developer documentation lists three official MCP servers: Meta Ads MCP for analyzing and managing ad campaigns, Meta Social Technologies MCP for developers who manage the Meta apps they build, and WhatsApp Business Tools MCP for the WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta lists Claude Desktop, Claude Code and ChatGPT on the web among the clients it has validated. None of the three is described as publishing posts to a Facebook Page.
Every Claude connector is built on MCP, the Model Context Protocol, so a "Facebook MCP" that posts to your Page is a connector that publishes to Pages, such as PostFast's.
Connecting Facebook Ads to Claude
Meta's ads AI connectors, announced in open beta, link an AI agent to your Meta ad account through Meta's ads MCP server, so you can pull campaign reports and create or edit ads from a chat; new ads stay paused until you set them live. Meta explains the setup for each supported AI tool on its ads AI connectors help page. PostFast is not part of that route: it reports on organic Page posts and does not create, edit or fund ads, campaigns or ad accounts.
Three ways to connect Claude to a Facebook Page

For posting, there are three setups to choose from:
| Route | How it works | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| A browser Claude drives | Claude in Chrome, Anthropic's browser extension, or Cowork's built-in browser opens facebook.com, then clicks, types and fills forms while you decide what happens next | One-off tasks on facebook.com while you watch | Meta's Terms restrict automated access (quoted below) |
| Automation platforms | A trigger in one tool fires a Facebook Page action in another, such as a new row in a sheet becoming a photo post | Repeating the same post pattern | Setup and billing live with the platform, and what you can post depends on its Facebook Page actions |
| A directory connector | Claude talks to a social media scheduler that already has permission to post on your Pages through Meta's API | Running your Page from a chat, with scheduling and approval | You need an account with the scheduler; check which tools the connector exposes |
On the browser route, Meta's Terms of Service say: "You may not access or collect data from our Products using automated means (without our prior permission) or attempt to access data you do not have permission to access, regardless of whether such automated access or collection is undertaken while logged-in to a Facebook account."
PostFast is in the third group, and the rest of this guide covers that route: it publishes through Meta's API rather than the website's buttons, with scheduling, approval, Reels, Stories and comments built in.
Is there a Facebook connector for Claude?
Not one made by Meta. Claude's directory lists more than a hundred connectors that mention Facebook, and dozens of them publish or schedule posts. PostFast is one of the third-party connectors that post to Pages, and it covers ten more networks from the same connection.
What you need before you start
- A Facebook Page you manage. PostFast posts to Pages, and one workspace can hold several of them.
- A Claude account. Anthropic lists web connectors as available to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner has to enable a connector for the organization before members can connect it.
- A PostFast account with your Page connected. PostFast has a 7-day free trial with no credit card, and the Claude connector works on every plan, including the trial. The Facebook integration page shows what PostFast publishes to Facebook.
- Your images or video at a public link. Give Claude a direct link to each file. Attaching a file in the chat also works where your Claude app passes files to connectors.
How to connect Claude to Facebook with PostFast
You connect your Facebook Page once inside PostFast, then connect PostFast to Claude. Once your PostFast account and Page connection are in place, adding the connector takes about two minutes.
Step 1: Connect your Facebook Page to PostFast
Create your PostFast account, open Accounts, click Add Social Account and pick Facebook, then sign in with your Facebook login. On Meta's consent screen, open Edit access in the Pages section and choose Select all current and future Pages. PostFast's help center explains why: Meta replaces your Page permissions on every reconnect instead of adding to them, so a Page you leave out disconnects, in every PostFast workspace that uses the same Facebook login.
PostFast then imports the posts published on your Page in the last 60 days, including ones you never made in PostFast, usually within a few minutes, and their stats fill in after that, so Claude can report on your recent posts from the start.
Step 2: Add PostFast from Claude's connector directory
Open PostFast in Claude's directory at claude.ai/directory/postfast, or in Claude go to Customize > Connectors, browse the directory and search for PostFast. Click Connect, then sign in on PostFast's own login screen and approve access.
The sign-in uses OAuth, the same kind of "Sign in with" flow you know from other apps, so no password or API key goes into the chat, and PostFast never holds your Facebook password: Meta handled that login in step 1.
Step 3: Turn PostFast on in a conversation
In the chat box, click the + button (or type /), hover over Connectors, and switch PostFast on for that conversation. Claude can now use it whenever your request needs it.
Step 4: Ask for your first Facebook post
Start with a quick check, then a real post:
- "Which Facebook Pages are connected in PostFast?"
- "Write a short post about our new weekend opening hours and schedule it on the Page for Thursday at 18:00, with the photo at [public image link]."
Claude shows you what will be posted, on which Page and when, and publishes only after you say yes. Until then the post waits on hold in PostFast.
On a Team or Enterprise plan
An Owner or Primary Owner first adds PostFast for the organization, either from Organization settings > Connectors (click Browse connectors, select PostFast and choose Add to your team) or with Connect for your team on PostFast's directory page. Adding it does not connect anyone automatically: each person then connects PostFast and signs in with their own PostFast login.
Prefer to add it by URL?
You can add the same connector as a custom connector. Go to Customize > Connectors, click Add, hover over Custom and select Web. Give it a name, paste https://mcp.postfa.st/mcp as the server URL, keep the authentication settings Claude detects, add it, and sign in when asked. Anthropic allows custom connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, with one custom connector on the Free plan.
In Cowork and on your phone
Anthropic lists connectors as available in Cowork as well as in Claude, Claude Desktop and the mobile apps. Cowork can also drive facebook.com in its built-in browser; the connector adds scheduling and approval. Installing connectors directly in the mobile apps is still in beta; connect PostFast on the web or in Claude Desktop and it is available in the Claude app on iOS or Android the next time you log in.
In Claude Code
If Claude Code is logged in with the same claude.ai account, connectors you added in Claude appear in Claude Code automatically. Run /mcp and PostFast is listed with your other claude.ai connectors. If it says it needs authentication, select it and sign in.
If you have not added PostFast in Claude, add it from the terminal once:
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http postfast https://mcp.postfa.st/mcp
Then run /mcp, choose postfast, select Authenticate, and approve the sign-in in your browser. Do not add it both ways: Claude Code hides the claude.ai copy as a duplicate of the server you added. For scripts, the Claude Code setup guide covers the open-source npm server with an API key, which publishes without the approval hold.
What Claude can do on Facebook once connected
Through PostFast, Claude can handle the day-to-day work on your Page:
| Task | What to ask Claude | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Feed posts | "Post this on the Page tomorrow at 9:00." | Text only, up to 10 images, or one video of up to 250 MB; images and video cannot be mixed |
| Reels | "Post this video as a Reel on Friday at 18:00." | One video, with a cover image or a frame you choose |
| Stories | "Schedule this image as a Story for Monday morning." | One image or one video per Story |
| Several Pages | "Put this on both of our Pages, with a different first line for each." | Each connected Page is its own target |
| Country targeting and place tags | "Show this post only to people in Germany and Austria and tag our venue." | Text and photo posts: up to 25 countries, and a place found by name; not Reels, Stories or video |
| First comment | "Add the booking link as the first comment." | Posted automatically about 10 seconds after the post goes live |
| Scheduling | "Spread these five posts over next week, weekday evenings." | Schedule up to a year ahead |
| Checking the calendar | "What is scheduled on the Page next week?" | Lists drafts, scheduled posts and failed posts with the reason |
| Deleting a post | "Delete the Thursday post." | Removes a scheduled post before it publishes; a live post stays on Facebook until you remove it there |
| Page analytics | "How did the Page's posts do this month?" | Impressions, reach, likes and reactions, comments, shares, clicks, video watch time and a daily follower trend |
The same chat can post to PostFast's other ten networks, set up the same way as in connecting Claude to LinkedIn, with the posting limits for every network collected in one guide. For timing, see PostFast's own data on the best times to post on Facebook.
Every post waits for your yes
In Claude, PostFast creates new posts on hold. Claude shows you what will be posted, on which Page and when, and the post only goes live after you confirm, which is the same post approval workflow teams use inside PostFast. If you change your mind, ask Claude to delete the post before its time, or edit it in PostFast's calendar.

Reels and Stories from a chat
Tell Claude which format you want and give it a public link to the file:
- A Reel is one vertical video. You can set its cover from an image you upload or from a moment in the video, for example "use the frame at 3 seconds".
- A Story is one image or one video. For several images, schedule several Stories.
- Check the format before you upload. The Facebook Reels size guide lists the size and aspect ratio to export at.
Answering Facebook comments without leaving the chat
PostFast's Social Inbox for comments collects the comments on your Page's posts, usually within seconds of being posted. Claude can read them, find the ones nobody has answered and draft replies, then post each reply under its comment after you have seen it and said yes. Replies on Facebook can run to 8,000 characters. Claude can also hide or unhide a comment when you ask, and delete one permanently after showing you which comment it is.

- Comments, not Messenger. Messenger conversations are not part of the inbox.
- No back catalogue. Comments arrive from the time your Page is connected; older ones are not imported.
- One reconnect for older connections. A Page connected before 28 July 2026 needs one reconnect before its comments arrive.
- Roles apply. Admins and Editors can reply and moderate; Client users can only read.
What Claude can tell you about your Page's performance
Ask how the Page's posts did and Claude pulls the per-post numbers listed in the table above, including views and watch time for video posts, plus the daily follower trend from the day PostFast started tracking the Page. Page-level Insights such as audience demographics or Page views are not included; a data connector built for Facebook Insights covers those.
Prompts to try
Copy these into a chat with PostFast switched on, and replace the details with your own:
- "Which Facebook Pages are connected, and is any of them disconnected?"
- "Post the video at [public video link] as a Reel tomorrow at 19:00, with the frame at 3 seconds as the cover."
- "Schedule the image at [public image link] as a Story for tomorrow at 9:00."
- "Schedule this event post for Friday at 12:00, show it only to people in Germany and Austria, tag our venue, and add the booking link as the first comment."
- "Write one version of this announcement for the Page and a shorter one for Instagram, use the photo at [public image link] for both, and schedule them for Monday at 10:00."
- "Find this week's comments on the Page that nobody has answered, draft replies, and show them to me before anything is sent."
- "How did the Page's posts perform over the last 30 days? Sort them by reach, tell me what the top three have in common, and show the follower trend."
The same connector posts to Instagram too, as connecting Claude to Instagram shows. While writing this guide we ran the account, calendar, comment and reporting requests on our own Facebook Pages through the same connector.
What it cannot do
Knowing the limits saves you a confused afternoon:
- No personal profiles or groups. PostFast posts to Facebook Pages, not to personal profiles or Facebook groups.
- No Messenger. Claude works on the comments under your Page's posts, not on Messenger conversations. Private replies to comments are an Instagram option, not a Facebook one.
- No ads and no Marketplace. PostFast does not create, edit or report on ads, campaigns or ad accounts, and it has no Marketplace features.
- No changes to live posts. Claude can delete a scheduled post and create it again; a post that is already on Facebook is edited or removed on Facebook.
- Your own connected Pages, nobody else's. Through PostFast, Claude cannot read other people's Pages, their posts or their comments. The one public lookup is the place search for location tags, which returns a place's name, address and picture.
- No Page-level Insights. Post statistics and the follower trend, yes; audience demographics and Page views, no.
- Analytics depth depends on the plan. Full analytics come with the Creator plan and above; the Starter plan includes limited analytics.
Is it safe to connect Claude to Facebook?
The connection is built so that Claude never holds your Facebook password:
- You sign in on PostFast's own screen with OAuth. No password or API key goes into the chat, and your Facebook login happens on Meta's screen.
- It posts through Meta's API. Meta documents how apps publish and schedule Page posts with its Pages API, and that is how PostFast posts to the Pages you connected, not by clicking through facebook.com.
- Nothing goes out without you. Posts wait for your approval, and every comment reply or deletion is shown to you first.
- Permissions stay with you. PostFast checks your workspace permissions on every request, so Claude can only do what your PostFast user can do.
- You decide which tools Claude may use. In Customize > Connectors, set each tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked; on Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner can restrict actions for the whole organization.
- You can disconnect at any time, in Claude or in PostFast.
One thing to know: PostFast is listed in Claude's directory as a community connector. Anthropic's directory notes that community connectors have undergone automated reviews but are not verified by Anthropic, and advises connecting only developers you trust.
Does this work in ChatGPT?
Yes. PostFast also has a ChatGPT connector in ChatGPT's plugin directory, running on the same server. In ChatGPT you can draft a Page post, a Reel or a Story, attach an image or video from a public link, schedule it, route it for approval, and check how published Page posts performed. The one-click directory install does not include the comment tools yet; adding the connector manually in ChatGPT's Developer mode gives you those today.
For ads, Meta lists ChatGPT on the web among the validated clients for its MCP servers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Claude post to Facebook?
Yes. With a connector that can post, such as PostFast, Claude can draft, schedule and publish feed posts, Reels and Stories to the Pages you manage, and every post waits for your confirmation before it goes live. Claude can also drive a browser on facebook.com, though Meta's Terms restrict automated access.
Can Claude post to my personal profile or a Facebook group?
Not through PostFast. PostFast posts to Facebook Pages, not to personal profiles or groups. If you post for a business, a brand or yourself as a creator, create a Facebook Page and connect that.
Is there a Facebook MCP or connector for Claude?
Meta runs official MCP servers for ads, for developers' own Meta apps and for WhatsApp Business, but none is described as posting to a Facebook Page, and Claude's directory has no connector made by Meta. To post from Claude, use a third-party connector that publishes to Pages, such as PostFast.
Can I connect Facebook Ads to Claude with PostFast?
No. PostFast reports on organic Page posts and does not create, edit or report on ads, campaigns or ad accounts. For ads, Meta offers its own ads AI connectors, which link an AI agent to your ad account through Meta's ads MCP server.
Can Claude reply to Facebook comments and messages?
Comments, yes; messages, no. Through PostFast's Social Inbox, Claude can read comments on your Page's posts, draft replies of up to 8,000 characters, and hide or delete comments, showing you every reply and deletion first. Messenger conversations are not part of the inbox.
Can I connect Facebook Page Insights to Claude?
Partly. Through PostFast, Claude reports per-post impressions, reach, likes, comments, shares, reactions, clicks and video watch time, plus a daily follower trend for the Page. Page-level Insights such as audience demographics or Page views need a data connector built for Facebook Insights.
Let Claude run your Page, keep the final say
Connecting Claude to Facebook turns "write me a post" into "write it, schedule it on the right Page, answer the comments, and tell me how it did". Set up the Claude connector once, keep your Pages connected in PostFast, and approve each post with a yes.
